This is going back to early June and the beginning of the 2.5 mile hike to the patch match. The road is closed due to a few washouts a few years ago. It is supposed to be open this fall which is cool because the Angeles Crest Highway is one of the best motorcycle roads in the US

Here is one of the washouts

Our dog Emma enjoying the view

Emma again, you may not be able to tell but it is a long way down. This highway is where they film a lot of TV shows and movies, you know like where a car drives a cliff, that sort of thing. The thing is cars really do drive off cliffs and plunge 100’s of feet. One time a van pool drove off the Angeles Forest highway and 7 people died. Off in the distance is the Mojave desert and the extreme southern Sierras or actually Piute mountains – whatever

Walking into the patch match we were walking behind these 3 cholo looking guys and a girl and they were throwing beer cans all over the place, both there and back. It was kind of a drag. If people keep doing that then maybe the forest service will keep a closer eye on “the patch”

Speaking of cars going off cliffs. This dude flagged us down and said he stopped to take a piss, left his car in gear and voila, the result you can see here. He is actually super lucky it hit that tree cause it was a long way down otherwise

If you have ever been to Mountain High you know it is pretty much a drive through the desert until you get right there. So it is weird to see ski rental places next to cactus. This place is old and abandon and I want to try to get some cooler shots of it someday

Kinda has the vibe of an Eagle song “On a dark desert highway” or something about Winslow Arizona and a girl in flatbed Ford. Ski Rentals and beer, I bet Hells Angels drank there in the 70’s

A friend has all this random skate stuff at his house, like a museum.

What the hell?

Remember these?

I don’t even know what these are

An old photo J-Grant Britain took of my friend Jeff in 1987 in Vista, CA

Old Airwalks, we did not even look at the old skate decks

By the way, I have a real job. I leave the house at 7:15, drive 55 miles to Newport Beach, work till 5:30, get home around 6:30, unless it is really busy then I work early or late
