Benji Galloway does it again! Benji beat a heavy crew this past Halloween weekend in Peoria, AZ, Northwest Phoenix, USA. Living in So Cal we are always invaded by the “Zonies” all summer as they escape the heat. This time of year and all winter Arizona gets invaded as the weather is sunny and warm. This weekend the invasion came in the form of skateboarding. People came from all over the US and at least one (Daniel Cardone) came from oversees. These World Cup Skateboarding bowl events are so fun. It is like you wake up and all of a sudden the world’s best skaters are ripping your bowl. Parties, sick sessions, good vibes; all go hand in hand with these events.

Thanks to World Cup Skateboarding, Kronik, Scion and everyone else responsible for this event, it was a hella good time. We are going to let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

Here is an overview of the bowl at Rio Vista Skatepark. It is super fun but did not really have any vert. A lot of the guys may have had trouble with that while some of the really versatile guys managed to fuck it up any way. It was a destructo fest in there all weekend

Benji Galloway has been on a tear, he won in Mammoth and he won in Arizona. Benji skates all things with tranny and he will rip the fuck out of it. He does all tricks on all walls, he definitely earned 1st place. Oh yea, Benji even got 12th in a Dew Tour street contest this summer. Here is a locked in smith grind

Ben Raybourn took a huge slam in practice AND rides a longboard but still took 1st in the 14 and over division and 38th in pro. Big ol boneless ones do not hurt

Cab may be a Christian but he still rips as a man possessed…by skating. Always good to see him on top of the podium, a familiar spot for him 5-0 grind4_cab.jpg

Daniel Cardone from Italy skates with a lot of grace and power, so rad to watch - crail

I gotta say Mimi was skating like a man. She did this sick nosegrinds or nose slides on a hip (I did not see exactly) that were so sick and of course ollies in the deep like this did not hurt her on her way to 2nd place. Cara-Beth is always a favorite for these things but I think Cara-Beth likes to see some vert and had to settle for 4th9_mimi.jpg

Omar Hassan ollies over a hip into 4th place. Any one of the top 6 guys could have taken it was kind of a matter of who was on, you know?

Brian Patch – master of speed, probably felt limited by the smaller bowl but managed 5th place anyway – fuck it

11_patch.jpg

Rune Glifberg kills everything, he has such good board control and had no problem adapting to this fun bowl, he got 2nd place - Madonna

Everyone loves to watch Nicole Zuck skate, she was shreddin’ – 3rd place

13_zuck.jpg

Steve Reeves skates like a god damn cat. He is up on everything, always lands on his feet and manages to be in the right place at the right time. That motherfucker tore it up. This was a stealth ollie to disaster, he pulls tricks like that out of his ass, just cruising along and…bam, there it is on every fucking walll
