When you are young and poor a good way to escape stress is to get wasted and pick up easy chicks at the bar. As you get more mature, getting wasted gets boring, or you become alcoholic. Either way, you get older and look for other ways to escape. I guess for me it is camping in beautiful spots in the middle of no where. You can either relate or maybe not, obviously most people do not or the woods would be as crowded as the fucking SoCal surf breaks. Anyway, I took off with the dog and my friend to explore some remote areas of the southern sierras. California is amazing becasue it could be blazing hot in the desert but for us it was raining one day and sunny the next, as cold as 20 degrees at night. Really nice
Casa Vieja Meadow looks straight from a John Wayne movie

Burnt out forest in a rain storm, there has to be a Smiths song in there somewhere

This resort, Jordan Hot Springs, was built in the 1800’s and abandon in the 1980’s or so. Such a cool place. In the olden days people would escape the heat of the valleys and vacation up here. Now that we have aircondidtioning it is much easier to stay home, play video games and catch type 2 diadetes from being too fat

Jordan Hot Springs, 50 miles by road and 5 miles by trail from the closest building. Air temp - 40 some degrees, water temp - 101 degrees

After dropping 20 degrees at night it was super nice the next day. Looking towards the South Fork of the Kern River

Matt had to climb some sketchy stuff to get to the top of Taylor Dome
